How we started... Have you ever had someone in your life complain about pain? That is exactly where the Snake Oil Shop had it's start. A wonderful woman in her 50's (although she really could never be said to look a day past 34!) had developed a rather painful condition in her arms that her doctor diagnosed as fibromyalgia. Her doctor had no "miracle" cure for her and she was resigned to live with daily doses of anti-inflammatory pills that made her stomach upset and creams and rubs that made her smell like a medicine cabinet. Her daughter, upon hearing her complain (she would say "a lot" but her mother would say "rarely"), began to research how she could best help.
Always a great believer in natural health, the daughter began concocting her own "home remedies" for her mother's ailment. After a great amount of research and an even greater amount of trials, our Original Formula Snake Oil was born. Here was a mix of essential oils known for their anti-inflammatory properties that her mother could use as much as she needed without any harsh side effects. Well, it was soon discovered that this product could be useful for all types of pain caused from inflammation including arthritis, bug bites, razor burn, diabetic ulcers, etc. There were so many that we nicknamed the product "Snake Oil" and we really couldn't shake the name once everyone started calling it that! Many of our closest friends and relatives began using the product and wanting more so we knew we had something special.
Our Present... Fast forward a few years and look at us now Mama! We have grown to include all kinds of products to help people deal naturally with life's ailments, as well as become a source of information for all things homeopathic for our friends and customers. From our Essential Oil Rubs to our Hot Flash Relief Gel, we are constantly improving and expanding our line of products to make it the best possible for you and your family. We strive to make sure that all of our products are as natural as possible without harming ourselves or our environment.
This strategy is proving successful since we not only have our online store but also offer a wholesale program that has us currently represented in 10 states and growing every day.
